Oh wow – it’s September

With Barbenheimer fever in the rearview mirror, Cromarty Cinema is offering some great cinematic delights in September.
The Summer of Fun season reaches its climax with two classics that need to be seen on the big screen: Raising Arizona and Speed. And the fun certainly doesn’t stop there, as we bring you Joy Ride where four Asian-American women embark on an epic road trip to Beijing. Expect twist and turns and many laughs. September’s volunteers’ choice is the equally hilarious sci-fi spoof Galaxy Quest, and who can resist Bill Forsyth’s classic Gregory’s Girl!
Everyone’s favourite pizza-loving, crime fighting sewer dwellers are back in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem – fun for all the family. And the show must go on in Sundance winner Theatre Camp, where staff and kids put on the show of their lives to save the camp.
As always, there’s plenty of quality drama on offer. Why not take a trip to France, where an author returns to his hometown and forms a bond with the son of his first love in Lie With Me. Or follow German holiday makes to the Baltic Sea as they become trapped in Afire. Scrapper takes you to a London council estate where Georgie is exploring her relationship with her estranged father. And there’s plenty more so please peruse the poster below for some gems.
We’re also screening three very special documentaries in September. The Bough Breaks explores the life of a conservationist who has been restoring the Caledonian forest for decades, while My Extinction charts a filmmaker’s personal journey towards climate activism. In A Cat Called Dom, a Scottish filmmaker is helped by an animated cat to edit a film for his mother. As always keep an eye on our socials for updates.
See you at the cinema!
