About
The Cromarty Cinema was born out of an annual film festival run by the Cromarty &
Resolis Film Society for over 12 years. Looking for a comfortable and permanent
home to show film in the community, a huge planning and fund-raising operation was
launched in 2018. The result was a brand new, purpose built 35-seater cinema which
opened in January 2020.
We are now generously supported by Creative Scotland and operate with board of
five trustees, one part-time paid staff employed from our community, and a squad of
20+ active and dedicated volunteers. These superheroes run everything from the projection booth to ticket sales, from buying the sweeties to vacuuming, from
agreeing which films to show each month to cleaning the loo. We always need more
help so if you’d like to get involved, see great films for free and become a superhero,
email Grazina admin@cromartycinema.com
Current trustees are: Fraser Mackenze, Nicola White, Alastair Morton, Anna Terje
and Tanya Karlebach
