Mike, a rough sleeper in London, is trapped in a cycle of self-destruction as he attempts to turn his life around.
[Harris Dickinson] is a committed filmmaker and on the basis of this, he’s got a very strong career behind the camera as well as in front of it.
At the age of 28, Dickinson has already established himself as a distinctive onscreen talent, and with this flawed but admirable film, he’s serving notice that his career behind the camera may be just as exciting to follow.
Dickinson has a light touch and a lively imagination, as well as a sense of humor; he takes material you think might be conventional and opens new windows of thinking.
You would expect an actor to be good with actors, though — more impressive are the bold flourishes, including fantasy and a ketamine-fuelled shindig to Voyage Voyage by Desireless.
