A couple of jovial life-long drunkards run into a shy architecture undergrad, whose way of seeing things will be transformed as the trio wanders from pub to pub in search of a buried treasure.
Loosely reminiscent of the happy-sad fables of Alice Rohrwacher, Francesco Sossai’s boozy dramedy is enchanting even when it briefly veers into predictable territory.
This is an existential story that is a less bleak and more scenic version of Samuel Beckett’s ‘Waiting for Godot,’ a psychological journey about connection, regret, memory, and meaning.
