RSNO: Holst’s The Planets + live solo performance

The Royal Scottish National Orchestra presents a very exciting opportunity for audiences to be part of their new live and on-screen musical experience.

Join RSNO Sub-Principal Trumpet Katie Smith and representatives from Scotland’s National Orchestra for a Friday night filled with fantastic music. You can enjoy a solo live performance, followed by a chat about the creative process behind the RSNO’s recording of Holst’s famous orchestral suite that will be shown on the big screen.

The menace of Mars, the beauty of Venus, the noble tunes of Jupiter…everyone has their favourite movement of The Planets. But there’s infinitely more to Holst’s work than just great melodies, and here, the incredible conductor John Wilson brings his special flair to the RSNO in this epic performance a very cinematic masterpiece.
