George Bailey, whose attempted suicide on Christmas Eve gains the attention of a guardian angel, Clarence Odbody (Henry Travers) who is sent to help him in his hour of need. George is shown by the angel what his small town would be like without him and how much he is needed and loved by those around him. A true Christmas gem that needs to be seen time and time again.
