April Programme published

Spring has sprung, the days are getting longer and we have some fun, thrills, drama and a couple of unexpected surprises for you to settle into the new season at Cromarty cinema. Very fittingly, this months’ volunteers’ choice is Little Miss Sunshine, the much loved feel-good, funny and touching 2006 drama.
We also have two more screenings of the widely popular drama Allelujah, set in a retirement home starring the biggest and best British actors of our time. After more star-studded fun? Renfield is a comedy horror starring Nicholas Hoult and Nicolas Cage as Dracula! And don’t miss your chance to catch the Oscar-winning All Quiet on the Western Front on the big screen.
For kinds and those young at heart, The Super Mario Bros. Movie is not to be missed. Mario and Luigi in an underground labyrinth – need we say more?
April sees a great and varied selection of international films, including Close, a moving depiction of a shifting teenage friendship. Winners, where a group of friends find an Oscar statue in Iran. The Beasts, a thriller that sees a couple move to a quiet village where the locals are not as friendly as they seem. And Godland, a Danish drama where a priest sets out to establish a church in Iceland, turning into a purgatorial odyssey.
After something a bit different? You can see the stage adaptation of The Life of Pi as part of National Theatre Live; get an intimate tour of Vermeer: The Greatest Exhibition, return to the New York indie music scene of the early 2000s in Meet Me in the Bathroom; or if you’re after some scares, horror Infinity Pool is for you.
So as always, plenty to choose from. Get your tickets at https://cromartycinema.com/films/, the human box office on Thursdays 12-2, or at the door. Starting this month we will have to pass on the 50p booking charge for tickets bought for all regular screening. This change doesn’t affect the cost of online ticket sales and just means the prices are consistent whether you buy on the door or online.
