Yes… it’s a Tati season in Cromarty.

No, not the edible kind! But a season of films by, and featuring Jacques Tati, one of the greatest comic geniuses of the last century. Over the course of 5 weeks Dave Newman will be introducing several of his most beloved comedy films.

So… many people especially those in the film industry, see Jacques Tati as the comic genius who’s six films have remained a huge and ongoing influence for them. Monsier Hulot, the eccentric but lovable on-screen character Tati created has been enjoyed, copied and been an ever present influence for many of the worlds greatest comic actors and directors including Peter Sellers, Rowan Atkinson, Wes Anderson and even Grommit, Nick Parks mumbling canine creation. This short season of films offers the rare oportunity to experience the ever changing, technology encroaching world of the forties, fifties and sixties through the eyes of this extraordinary man.
